Ingrid Spencer Retires - 28 Oct 26

Yesterday, 27 October, the Mayor of Margate’s Office said goodbye to Ingrid Spencer, Honorary Town Clerk of Margate, as she hangs up her robe and wig and begins her well-deserved retirement after 10 years of service to the Charter Trustees.

Ingrid has played an important role in supporting the Mayors and Charter Trustees of Margate, helping to manage busy diaries, organise civic events, preserve traditions and protocols, and keep everything running smoothly along the way!

She is also a font of knowledge about Margate’s Mayoralty, the Charter Trustees and the town’s history, knowledge that will be important to preserve as Margate prepares for its new Town Council, a move Ingrid has helped push forward and which will finally become a reality in April 2027.

Ingrid will be greatly missed, and we thank her for her hard work and support over the past 10 years. We wish her a happy, relaxing and fun-filled retirement!
