Mayor and Charter Trustees of Margate

As Margate no longer enjoys the status of a Borough, the Mayoralty is administered by the Margate Charter Trustees, these being those elected members of Thanet District Council whose wards lie within the boundary of the old Borough of Margate.

On 20th May 2024, Cllr Jack Packman was elected Town Mayor of Margate for the municipal year 2024-25, with Cllr Katie Pope as Margate’s Deputy Mayor. Mrs Karen Brinkman was appointed Mayoress for the year with Ms Leigh McKenzie as DT Mayoress
